The 27th of September was a special day for the Chinese language community in India as Visva- Bharati University (Cheena Bhawana/ 中国学院) hosted its 3rd Chinese language competition, in conjunction with the Consulate General of The People's Republic of China in Kolkata.
Students and teachers from Cheena Bhawana, Central Jharkhand University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamilya Milliya, Central University of Gujarat, Delhi University, Jadavpur University, Aurangabad University and more participated in the event. The competition categories included impromptu speech, song, and poem recitation. Ni Hao! Calcutta was happy to be able to send a member of its faculty, a graduate of Cheena Bhawana, to assist in the competition. We look to Cheena Bhawana for inspiration, always, and hope they will continue their groundbreaking work for many years to come.
